Our Mission
The Asher House is a registered nonprofit sanctuary that advocates for the welfare, protection, and dignity of all animals. Our organization provides rescue, rehabilitation, rehoming and a lifelong sanctuary for animals in need, with a commitment to end animal suffering and promote humane treatment. Through community education, advocacy, and hands-on care, we work toward a more compassionate world for animals.
For over two years, our Founder, Lee Asher, traveled across 49 states to promote dog adoption and spotlight various shelters and rescues. We have grown so much in the last few years. Visit our website at www.theasherhouse.com to get the full story!
Adoption Policy
The Asher House currently focuses on adoptions within Oregon, Washington, and Idaho so that we can provide post-adoption support to our adopters and animals.
If you live in one of these three states and see a dog you’re interested in, please complete our adoption application. As part of our adoption process, we ask for two references and conduct a video home check.
If we believe one of our animals could be a good match for you, we’ll schedule a meet-and-greet for everyone in your household, including your current dog(s). This gives everyone an opportunity to meet and helps us determine together whether the adoption is the right fit.
Our goal is always to create safe, loving, and successful lifelong matches for our animals and their adopters. All of our adoptable animals are on our website www.theasherhouse.com.
