For many pets and their owners, the start of April means longer walks in the outdoors and more afternoon naps in the warm sunshine. But this month also kicks off Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month.
Each year, the ASPCA uses the month of April to encourage animal lovers everywhere to "Go Orange for Animals." Here are a few of our favorite ways to celebrate and promote the fight against animal cruelty:
Suit up in orange! Visit the ASPCA online store to get all of your gear in support of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals month. And to celebrate the event, all of the site's Go Orange products are 25-50% off, and orders of $40 or more come with a free paw-print bandana!
Spread the word on Facebook! By signing up for the organization's Facebook app, you can help to get your friends involved and raise awareness about the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals initiative.
Educate yourself about the signs of animal abuse. Beyond an animal's behavior, many physical and environmental signs can help you recognize that an animal might be in trouble. Refresh your knowledge with this checklist of potential warning signals--including information on how to report animal abuse.
