Our Mission
Abandoned Paws Rescue Project is dedicated to saving dumped and abandoned cats and dogs from the streets and giving them the second chance they deserve. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals that are often overlooked, providing them with medical care, safety, and the opportunity to find loving forever homes. We actively support Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts and educate the public on responsible practices to reduce and manage stray cat populations.
What sets Abandoned Paws Rescue Project apart is our commitment to offering every street cat the opportunity for a safe indoor life whenever possible, rather than returning them to outdoor environments. We also advocate for cats living with FIV and FeLV, ensuring they are placed in loving homes where they can live full, healthy lives.
We believe every animal deserves compassion, safety, and the chance to be loved. We rescue today in hopes that one day rescue will no longer be necessary.
Adoption Policy
An adoption application must be completed, which requires 2 personal references (no family members) and a veterinary reference if applicable. The landlord’s contact information will also be required for applicants who rent. Once the application is approved, a meeting with the animal(s) of interest will be scheduled. A home visit will be done at the time of adoption. All applicants must live within a 1 hour distance from Bethlehem, PA. An adoption contract will be signed by both parties to ensure the well-being of the animal(s) and that if rehoming is necessary at any point, the cat(s) will be returned to Abandoned Paws Rescue Project. All animals under Abandoned Paws Rescue Project are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed and flea/tick treated, and tested for FIV and FeLV. Medical records will be provided at the time of adoption.
