One of Gingerbread's favorite ways to spend the day is perched by a window, watching birds and the world go by from the comfort of a cozy bed near his favorite people. He LOVES to play, especially with dog toys, and explore within the home. Gingerbread may also think he is a dog, as he steals all of the dog toys in his foster home and hoards the dog beds. Gingerbread would be happy to share his home with dogs who respect his space and boundaries, but he is selective about which cats he will get along with. If you're looking for a playful companion who will reward your patience with endless purrs and affection, Gingerbread is ready to find the loving home he deserves.<br/><br/>Gingerbread was rescued, along with the 6 other cats in his colony, when we were made aware of some friendly cats living at a shopping plaza along a busy road. With some time to decompress after being brought inside and spayed/neutered, Gingerbread and his buddies showed us how loving and sweet they were. They may have been someone's pet at one point or strays that had interacted with humans, but regardless we knew they were not meant to live outside and fend for themselves in a dangerous area. <br/><br/>After a few months of loving the inside life in a foster home, Gingerbread started to show symptoms and was diagnosed with wet Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Thankfully, his foster noticed the symptoms early on and we were able to start his FIP treatment early on, preventing this disease from progressing further. After a couple weeks of his 84 day treatment, his loving personality returned and he was back to feeling like his usual self. He will complete his 84 day treatment on September 4th and be a FIP survivor, on top of everything else he has fought through in his previous life outdoors.<br/><br/>Gingerbread is 2 years old, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed and flea/tick treated, and negative for FIV and FeLV.
