Skye 's Story

Skye is a soon to be 3-year-old (in May) Great Dane cross weighing only 72 pounds with a goofy soul and a heart full of love.

She is a gentle giant; she loves other dogs and kids and warms up fairly quickly to adults, though she is more wary of men. She hasn't been at her fosters long, but has already revealed one of her superpowers: she can leap the coffee table and the sofa in a single bound while landing with the gracefulness of a ballerina.

Skye is spayed, up-to-date on shots, housetrained, and crate-trained.

Sweet and gentle as she is, she cannot live with small animals - no cats, no small dogs, no chickens, no rabbits, nothing small that isn't safely housed in an aquarium. Her ideal home would be a house with a fenced yard and have another bigger dog in it; she loves companionship.

Skye loves her toys, stuffies are great but this girl loves to chase a ball. Once she’s done she just wants to curl up with her humans and relax, she loves to be around her people.

She also loves chicken. Really loves chicken. Can smell the neighbours cooking chicken. Would sell her soul for it. Would sell your soul for it. She’d be a great mascot for Swiss Chalet.

Skye is ready to find her forever family and show them just how much love and loyalty she has to give.

Underdog Railroad Canada's Adoption Policy
Our adoption fees vary depending on the expenses associated with that particular animal. We operate on a cost-recovery basis. Please contact us to confirm adoption fee if it is not posted. No animals are offered for free. All animals are adopted spayed/neutered if over 6 months of age. Those under 6 months of age are adopted under a spay and neuter contract and it is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure this is completed. Adoption contracts must be signed upon adoption and state that the animal is returned to UDR if circumstances ever change and the adopter can no longer care for the pet. Our process includes a completed application, a meet and greet with the animal and a home check upon adoption. Submitting an application for review does not guarantee an adoption will take place.
