A fun pup here! If you are into big block heads and even bigger hearts... Scrappy is your guy. Recently he went on a hike with volunteers and loved swimming! He also visited our WMPD building where everyone loved him! He loved them back. Belly rubs, some treats, exploring the offices. Scrappy showed his fun, confident, happy personality immediately. He loves humans! <br/><br/>This 1 1/2-year-old low-rider pittie mix came to us in mid-September after a heartbreaking goodbye. His dad loved him dearly but was living in his car and made the incredibly selfless decision to give Scrappy the happy, stable life he deserves. And this boy... He is SO ready for a stable loving life! <br/><br/>Scrappy is sweet in all caps. HE. IS. SO. LOVING. He is playful, goofy, affectionate, and has one of those personalities that makes people instantly smile. Visitors fall for him all the time but many already have dogs at home.<br/><br/>Scrappy needs:<br/>-To be your only pet<br/>-A home with kids 12+<br/>-Continued guidance and training<br/><br/>He does not seem to know what to do with other dogs, he likely did not get much early socialization. With structure and training, there may be room for growth, but for now he's happiest being your one and only.<br/><br/>He is fantastic on leash, tail wagging the whole way, proudly carrying a stuffed toy on his walks like it is the most important job in the world. It is impossible not to laugh. Scrappy is young, eager, and full of love. He bonds deeply and just wants to belong.<br/><br/>He lost his home once through no fault of his own. Let us make sure the next one is forever. Come meet Scrappy. <br/><br/>Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our dogs. Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a dog.<br/><br/>If you have a dog at home, two meet-and-greets are required. We offer a free session with our trainer, Canine Cooperative, once an adoption is finalized.<br/><br/>Our adoption fee is $150 for dogs.
