Rana's Story

When Rana first came to us, we believed her time would be very short. After getting a better understanding of her medical condition, we’ve received a bit of unexpected hope. Because of this, we’ve made the decision that Rana is a candidate for adoption.

Rana may be a hospice dog with a serious heart condition, but she sure doesn't know it. Thankfully, she has no signs or symptoms of illness and likely never will. Though nothing further can be done medically, and while she could pass at any time, it’s also very reasonable to think she may have 1-2 years ahead of her… and with a little luck, maybe even more! Now, what matters most is making sure those days are spent in a home that sees her for the special little girl she is.

And Rana truly is a joy.

She is house-trained, dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and wonderful with people of all ages. She settles in easily, is a perfect house guest, and has the funniest, sweetest little personality that will keep you smiling and laughing all day long. She loves comfort, companionship, treats(!), and just being near her people.

Importantly, there are no ongoing medical expenses related to her condition, aside from one medication costing $30 a month. The only real “challenge” with Rana's condition is not physical or financial, its just accepting that her remaining time is so uncertain.

Rana doesn’t need a miracle. She just needs someone willing to love her for however long she has left. If you can be that person, you will be giving her the greatest gift imaginable: a home, a family, and a life filled with love.

Apply to adopt Rana today at neworleansbulldogs.com/application

Please NOTE: do not use Petfinder's "inquiry" or "interest" option, which does not always work properly.
