PICCHU - sweet & gentle

Meet our little man, PICCHU!<br/><br/>Picchu is 12 lbs and estimated to be about 1 year old as of June 2026. He's smaller in person than he appears in the photos! We think he's a Dachshund mix! He's got a long hot dog body and distinctive Doxie features! We absolutely love his ears! The one trait he did not get is the barkiness though which is great!<br/><br/>Picchu is a VERY sweet and gentle boy! His foster and rescuer raves about him! He likes to be touched and petted and enjoys the company of anyone he's met! He easily allows all handling.<br/><br/>He does well with other dogs! He is neutral and nice to any other dog he meets. He's respectful and understands cues well! He's currently being fostered in a home with multiple dogs of varying ages in sizes and is great with them all. Please see the video!<br/><br/>On an energy scale, he has medium energy. He'd be a very good apartment/city dog as well because he isn't an excessive barker, as mentioned above. Like a typical Dachshund, he may bark when he sees something that he wants to alert his humans about but nothing more than that. He has not exhibited any separation anxiety or barking related to being left alone either which is great!<br/><br/>He doesn't have any resource guarding behaviors (you can easily put down and take away his food). He is easy going.<br/><br/>He is crate trained and house trained. He does NOT have accidents in the house and waits to do all his business outside!<br/><br/>We think he would be absolutely fine with children given his sweet personality! <br/><br/>He has not been cat tested with us but we don't anticipate and issues given his personality.<br/><br/>Picchu and Machu (now adopted) were found abandoned in a wire crate in a school parking lot. A trusted rescuer we work with who works as a teacher at the school couldn't leave them there, of course, so took them home. Machu is adopted and Picchu is looking for his forever home.<br/><br/>He is neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccinations.<br/><br/>**PLEASE NOTE: Picchu is currently in Puerto Rico and will fly to his forever home once adopted!
