She was rescued from the Andong wildfire area in Korea and is, quite simply, an exceptionally gentle and easygoing dog. Ov is the kind of dog who makes daily life feel easy. She is calm, affectionate, and deeply good-natured—equally happy going on a walk or simply sitting beside you watching TV.<br/><br/>✨ Quick Facts<br/>Age: ~3 years<br/>Sex: Spayed Female<br/>Weight: ~54 lbs (currently overweight; needs a dedicated weight management plan)<br/>Energy Level: Low to moderate<br/>Health: Overall very healthy <br/><br/>🌿 Personality & Vibe<br/>- Extremely gentle, calm, and affectionate—truly "as sweet as they come."<br/>- Quiet indoors and rarely barks.<br/>- Loves relaxing on the couch and watching TV with her people.<br/>- Enjoys being petted, belly rubs, and gentle face massages (she will often show you her belly the moment she meets you!).<br/>- Well-mannered, non-destructive, and incredibly easy to live with. She is polite and independent enough that she won't blindly shadow your every move.<br/>- Very responsive to her people. While she has shown great recall indoors with her foster, as a new rescue, she must remain securely leashed on walks.<br/>- Gentle in her interactions and has shown no play-mouthing or biting in her foster home.<br/><br/>👨‍👩‍👧 With People & Children<br/>- Friendly with everyone, regardless of age or gender, and has no stranger shyness.<br/>- Naturally approaches people to seek affection.<br/>- Loves children and will even stop on walks just to watch kids across the street (though her size can feel intimidating to very small kids or some adults).<br/><br/>🐶🐱 With Other Pets<br/>- Very social and interested in other dogs.<br/>- Gets along best with similar or slightly smaller dogs.<br/>- Benefits from calm, structured introductions (because of her size, if another dog reacts fearfully or aggressively toward her, she may get excited and react in return).<br/><br/>🏠 Home & Crate Behavior<br/>- Extremely calm indoors with no barking observed.<br/>- No separation anxiety has been observed. She has experience being left alone for an 8-hour workday and simply rests quietly the entire time.<br/>- Comfortable free-roaming or hanging out in her crate.<br/>- Enters her crate voluntarily, especially at night, using it as a safe resting space.<br/><br/>🚽 Potty Habits<br/>- Potty trained<br/>- Clearly signals when she needs to go by whining and circling.<br/>- Highly reliable outdoors if taken out during her preferred window.<br/><br/>🚶 Exercise & Leash Manners<br/>- Enjoys outdoor time and hiking, typically doing a 30-minute morning walk and a 40-minute evening walk.<br/>- Has lower stamina at the moment and may choose to head home after moderate activity.<br/>- Pulls strongly at the beginning of walks (though this is improving) but settles nicely after about 20 minutes.<br/>- A hands-free leash with a sturdy carabiner is strongly recommended.<br/>- Can become excited and pull or jump when she spots other dogs on walks.<br/><br/>🚗 Car Rides & Grooming<br/>- Rides well in the car overall, though she may pant or drool mildly before settling down.<br/>- Tolerates baths and handling very well with absolutely no aggression, even if the tub isn't her favorite place.<br/><br/>🩺 Dental Note (A Story of Resilience)<br/>Ov recently underwent a necessary dental procedure involving multiple extractions. Her Korean vet suspects that someone previously, intentionally cut her teeth, exposing the internal tissue and causing her pain. Removing these damaged teeth was necessary to get her out of pain. The fact that she is still so trusting and loving after experiencing this cruelty is a testament to her beautiful soul. Her molars remain fully intact, meaning she can comfortably eat regular kibble and enjoy normal soft toys without any issues. While her mouth may look a bit sparse, she is completely healed, comfortable, and her daily quality of life is completely unaffected!<br/><br/>🛟 What She Needs in a Forever Home<br/>- A family committed to daily walks and a gradual weight management routine.<br/>- An adopter comfortable handling a strong, 54-lb dog on a leash, especially at the start of walks.<br/>- Someone who can provide structured guidance around other dogs.<br/>- A calm, loving environment where she can simply relax and be a cherished part of everyday life.<br/>- Adopters should be fully prepared for a dog that sheds quite a bit!
