Gretchen's Story

Gretchen is the kind of girl who enters a room and immediately decides it’s time to celebrate! At just 2 years old, this 52-pound American Bulldog mix is joyful, goofy, playful, and apparently has her very own happy dance routine.

Gretchen spent months in a crowded local shelter, where she quickly became a staff favorite thanks to her sweet nature and those adorable little spins and wiggly dance moves she does whenever she gets excited. She absolutely loves meeting new friends and is always ready to hand out kisses.

Unfortunately, Gretchen kept getting overlooked because she is heartworm positive. Now Gretchen is with New Orleans Bulldog Rescue and getting the care she needs, including lifesaving heartworm treatment. She has no symptoms from her heartworm disease and is expected to make a full recovery after treatment. And while Gretchen definitely has some medical business to take care of, she isn't letting that get down her. This girl is ready to play, dance, give kisses, and make friends!

She would love a family who has the time and interest to play with her and, naturally, participate in a few dance parties of their own. That said, Gretchen also knows when it's time to relax, and isn't excessively energetic.

Here's what we know about Gretchen:

Dog-friendly
Kid-friendly
House-trained
Crate-trained
Probably cat-friendly, pending a cat test

Gretchen has already spent enough time waiting for her turn. Now she's ready for the fun part: finding the family who will appreciate her goofy personality, her joyful spirit, and all those adorable little dance moves.

If you're looking for a playful, silly, eager American Bulldog mix who is always excited to make a new friend, Gretchen might just be your girl.

Apply to adopt Gigi at www.NewOrleansBulldogs.com/application

For questions, contact www.NewOrleansBulldogs.com/contact
