Rescued from the Andong wildfire area in South Korea, she has proven to be one of the sweetest and most emotionally soft dogs her foster family has ever met.

💛 WHY DELTA?
Delta quietly becomes deeply important to those around her. She is emotionally gentle, incredibly kind, and genuinely seeks connection. Watching her relax, trust, and feel safe is a deeply meaningful, earned bond.

🌿 TEMPERAMENT & SOCIALIZATION

• Extremely gentle, sensitive, and well-mannered
• Quiet, observant, affectionate, and deeply kind
• Builds trust slowly, but once she feels emotionally safe, she is loving and seeks closeness
• Loves sleeping beside her people and leaning against them
• Tolerant during handling, grooming, and daily care
• Food-motivated and enjoys nose work activities

👩‍👩‍👦 With People
• Initially shy with strangers, especially outdoors, but never aggressive — simply cautious
• Warms up steadily when allowed to approach at her own pace
• Loves affection once comfortable and will seek pets and closeness
• No major difference between men and women, but sudden movement or loud noises can startle her

Foster recommends letting Delta approach first, avoiding forced handling initially, and using treats, calm energy, and patience to build trust.

🧒 With Children
• Good with dog-savvy children (elementary school aged and up)
• Best with calm, respectful kids rather than chaotic environments

🐶 With Other Dogs
• Extremely social and emotionally appropriate
• Gets along beautifully with both large and small dogs
• Reads social cues well
• Gentle with shy dogs and tolerant of rude behavior
• Has even attempted to “mediate” conflicts between dogs at dog cafés
• Could thrive as an only dog or with another calm, friendly dog
• Foster believes other dogs help Delta feel safer and more confident in new situations

🚶 DAILY LIFE & HABITS
Delta loves walks and outdoor activities. Her current routine includes a 30–40 minute morning walk and a 1–1.5 hour evening walk.

• 100% outdoor potty trained
• Pulls strongly at the start of walks due to excitement
• Startles easily at sudden loud sounds or unfamiliar people
• May freeze or move away when frightened
• Does not pick up food outdoors
• Especially enjoys long sniff walks, exploring, nose work, food enrichment, and quiet observation

Foster recommends using both a harness and collar during the adjustment period, along with gradual confidence-building around environmental noise.

🏡 HOME LIFE
At home, Delta is very calm and low-maintenance:

• No destructive behavior or chewing issues
• No separation anxiety observed
• Quietly rests or sleeps while home alone
• Loves soft resting spaces and sleeping in bed with her people

🔈 Barking
• Rarely barks
• Occasionally gives a single bark when overly excited before walks or when correcting another dog

🧼 CARE & WELL-BEING
Delta stands out for her tolerance and cooperation with all aspects of care.

• Tolerates bathing, paw wiping, brushing, and teeth care
• Patient even if she dislikes parts of grooming — no growling, snapping, or defensive behavior
• No known allergies
• Healthy overall and slightly lean
• Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention must be continued every 1st day of each month, year-round

🧸 Favorite Activities
• Nose work and treat puzzles
• Long walks and sniffing
• Quiet companionship
• Plush toys (especially removing tags 😅)

🏠 WHAT DELTA NEEDS IN A HOME

✨ Ideal Home
• Patient adopters who understand sensitive dogs
• Calm and stable household
• People who enjoy walks and outdoor time
• Someone willing to build trust gradually
• A family committed to consistency and emotional safety

⚠️ Not Ideal
• Loud or chaotic households
• Homes with frequent sudden noises
• Families gone for extremely long hours daily
• People expecting an instantly confident or highly outgoing dog
• Homes highly sensitive to shedding

💬 THE REALITY
Delta is not a difficult dog — she is simply sensitive. Environmental instability and frequent changes upon rescue have made her initially cautious, but even when nervous, she remains remarkably gentle and trusting.

Her foster noted that within about a week, she started approaching for affection on her own, and after a month, she appeared truly settled and emotionally comfortable.
