Meet Copper the Hound
**Copper is still being fostered in TX – meaning his adoption will be a distance-adoption and it will only be possible to “meet” him via video prior to his adoption. We have super reliable transport to the East Coast, but often the pick up may be an hour or two away so if you are not able to drive to pick up, please flag that up for us in the application.
Copper popped up in front of his foster’s house and after playing catch me if you can for an hour or so, decided he’d like a snack and a nap! After posting up on local pages hoping to find his family and receiving no response, we set out to get him fattened up, vetted, and ready for his Sweet Life!
Copper is ALL THINGS HOUND. He likes to bay, howl at the moon, be ornery and is a good bit of an escape artist. He never tries to get away, it’s more about the ESCAPE! We did learn the hard way he can easily climb / clear and 4 foot chain link fence, he’ll be best in a wooden fenced yard or with a family that does not leave him outside unattended.
He is the SWEETEST boy ever. He loves to give hugs, sweet kisses, and to hang out on the sofa. He is amazing with other dogs and currently lives with a pack of 10 (big and small). He has also been tested with kids of elementary and middle-school ages and done fine.
Copper is a ~30 lbs and essentially done growing. He’s a great size and demeanor for all kinds of adventuring and would be a great walking, running, hiking, beach buddy. He is pretty active, so he needs a family that can commit to daily exercise.
