Archie/Stretch's Story

Archie was sadly returned to us after his loving owner passed away. They gave him a safe, caring home, but before that, Archie’s life was much harder. He came from an abusive situation where he wasn’t socialized, and it left him unsure about new people and slow to trust.

What He Needs
Archie prefers a calm, predictable home where his space is respected. Because of his past trauma, he’s sensitive about his back end being touched and needs someone patient who understands that trust will build slowly. He’s also believed to be losing some of his hearing, so gentle communication and routine help him feel secure. He is easy startled and needs someone to take their time with him.

Animal Compatibility
Archie does not do well with other animals. Now we’re hoping the third time is the charm — a forever home where he can finally settle in and feel safe for good for his later life years. For the right person, he will be a deeply loyal companion who just needs someone willing to meet him where he is.
