Abbie's Story

Abbie is a sweet bulldog/dachshund mixed breed dog. She is six years old and weighs about 50 pounds. She has the cutest short legs! She is a wonderful companion, attentive and spunky. She can be protective when strangers approach.
Due to a death in the family, Abbie needs a new home.
She gets along with other dogs who are respectful of her space. She is fine with children. However, she needs to be in a cat free home.
Abbie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and house trained.
Sadly, Abbie has been diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor (MCT) over her right eye (most visible in the third photo). Surgery has been recommended by her vet. Their estimate is around $1500. It is a big ask for someone to adopt her, but this lovely 6 year old deserves a chance at more years of life and love.
There may be a rehoming fee, but that depends on the willingness of an adopter to attend to her medical needs.
Abbie is living in her current home. Please contact Liz at 707 496-9623 or elizabethfinger1@gmail.com for more information or to arrange a meet and greet.
Please share.

Companion Animal Foundation's Adoption Policy
If interested, we have potential adopters meet the animal in person and fill out our adoption application. After reviewing the application, which are processed in the order they are received, as long as everything checks out and is good to go we will reach out to the applicant to either set up an adoption appointment (if the animal of interest is altered and ready to go), ask some clarifying questions if part of the application was unclear, or let you know that the animal is already spoken for. We require that ALL family members meet the animal prior to adoption. Once the kitty or puppy, cat or dog is ready to go- we do an in person adoption where we go over pet care, the history of your new family member, microchip the animal, and help fill out the registration information.
