Jo - A Petfinder Happy Tail

Adopted Dog

Adopted from Sugarfoot Farm Rescue, Columbia, KY.

So in the late summer of 2013, I turned 16 and begun my search for my first job. I was directed to our towns online magazine by my grandmother, and saw a couple of job listings, but then something caught my eye. Sugarfoot Farm Rescue-Wish List.

I looked at it, and at the bottom in all caps was listed "...and we need HELP" So I called the number and the next day I showed up to volunteer. And thus began my days at the rescue.

I quickly fell in love with the dogs and the work I was doing, and around October, someone surrendered a dog named Jo. She was a two year old Canaan dog, and sweet as could be. We just clicked in a way, and I soon fell in love. I begged and pleaded and my father said that if I saved up for all expenses, I could adopt Jo.

March 19th of 2014, I signed my name on the dotted line and took her home.

I'll admit, I get frustrated with her at times, but in the end she looks at me and gives me a puppy dog smile, and I forget why I was even mad in the first place. She sleeps all night curled up with me, and lays in the living room floor with our old Australian Shepherd while we eat dinner. She fits perfectly into the family, and I could never wish for a better dog.
