Lily was one of my foster puppies. She got adopted by a family, only to be returned by a neighbor who saw her running loose all the time. I was asked to take her back for a period of time to protect her. I went to pick her up and she immediately ran to me, but was shy with all of the other people around. For the next few weeks, I cleared Lily of parasites and worked with her to overcome her fears. After a few months, I finally agreed to adopt Lily. On her first birthday, my nieces held a birthday party, complete with a home-made agility course. Lily LOVED it. I signed her up for classes and she took to it like a duck on water. I have since competed with her at the national level. I have also started 2 other of my rescue dogs competing. I can't tell you how many great people I have met by doing agility. I love it and the dogs love it. My little Lily and now Toto (who I rescued from a pound and had heartworm) have gone from throw-away dogs, to national agility competitors! They are wonderful companions as well.
