Olivia (formerly Lex - A Petfinder Happy Tail

Adopted Dog

Adopted from Humane Society serving Crawford Co., Bucyrus, OH.

My daughter and I were searching Petfinder for a new addition to our family. We had lost our German Shepherd to death a few months prior. One Friday we came across a very pretty female GSD named Lexi on Petfinder. I had to work the next day, a Saturday. Needless to say, when I got home my daughter told me that Lexi was "pending." I was sad, but not surprised. I told her that I guess it was not to be. About 10 days later, much to my surprise, I saw Lexi again! This time she was not listed as "pending." Even though it was late, I tried to contact the Humane Society of Crawford County, OH, by email. I told my daughter that we would get up early the next morning to head over to Bucyrus from Toledo and try to get there by the time they opened. We got most of the way there and tried calling to find out if she was indeed available again and we were told "yes." They said they would hold her for us until we got there. After we arrived, they brought her out to us, and we immediately bonded. I knew right then and there that she would be coming home with us. I filled out all the paperwork and we brought her home with us. That was on 02/02/2012. I decided that apparently it was "meant to be" for us. Once we got back to Toledo we took her shopping for new toys, etc. But I also wanted to show her off! She is so pretty. We did change her name to Olivia. She's @oliviaGSD on @twitter.
