Penny - A Petfinder Happy Tail
Penny - posted 03/05/2015
From Anita of Celina, OH
2 years ago when we lost our pair of 14 year old cocker spaniels, we decided to adopt a Beagle mix, Rudy. Well, he has been such a wonderful dog, we felt it was time to open our house to another rescue. I went on Petfinder and searched hundreds (and I do mean hundreds) of beagle bios. The dog who caught my eye was named Toffee (now Penny) from Midwest BREW. There was something in her eyes that tore at my heart. After due diligence including meeting a couple of other dogs in person, we went up to meet Penny. She was just beautiful, so sweet, quiet and attentive. Rudy has been showing her the ropes over the last month and it's like we have had her forever. Something very special about Penny is that when she was given to Midwest Brew, her foster mom noticed a mammary tumor which turned out to be cancer. I knew she was the pup for me, as I am a 9 year breast cancer survivor myself. I am so glad Midwest BREW and her foster mom did not give up on her, her surgery revealed clear margins around the tumor and she is cancer free! I bought her a collar and leash bearing the pink ribbon symbol. We proudly wear our pink together!
