Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Guinea Pig Food, Veggies, Leafy Greens, Western Timothy & Orchard Mix

Favorite toys and activities: Redecorating this cage, and attempting to move his cage around the room! He enjoys wooden chew toys.

Potty trained: No

This animal’s daily routine: Morning snacks &, playtime, afternoon naps, evening dinner time, and sleepy time.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?):
No, but needs a friend in an adoptive home.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Cat - Rufus is friendly towards the cat, even when she decides to sit in his cage with him.

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Yes, he is fine with kids petting him and holding him.

Other notes: Rufus is just a great pig! You will be entertained by his antics. He always greets you with his nose in the air and a wheek wheek! He is very particular in his veggies. Green peppers are preferred. He could care less if you give him a treat but loves pellets and hay.


Rufus came to MNPPR when his owners became allergic to him.

Due to our rescue being foster based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN.
