Olaf Chinchilla Chinchilla Wolcott, IN

We have a mosaic male chinchilla that is looking for his new home. He came to NWI a bit ago, when his owner had to move out of the country and was unable to take his chinchilla with. His name is Olaf and we have down that he was born 6/30/15, which means he’s just recently turned 4 years old! Happy Birthday Olaf! Great time to take him home, and what a great birthday present that would be, right??

Olaf’s color is called mosaic, which is basically a white chinchilla with greyish markings. As you can see from his pictures, he is white and has a bit of grey shadings speckled over his entire body, with the shading being a bit darker at the base of his tail.

Olaf is super curious and friendly. Very outgoing boy! When you’re by his cage, he likes to come over to the side you’re on and sniff you. Maybe you have treats? Maybe you will pet him, or let him out? He wants to find out! He will come right up to the front of the cage, which makes him super easy to scoop up into your arms. He will even hop up onto your hand / arm if you give him a little time to do so! He’s perfectly cool with that! Very sweet boy. He does well with being handled and petted, and he sits pretty nicely in your arms to be handled and petted. Very very sweet. Olaf doesn’t bite.

This chinchilla would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had one.

This chinchilla is currently caged alone, and we do not know how he does with other chinchillas. If you are curious as to whether he might get along with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

Olaf CAN come with his cage, if desired, for an additional fee. Olaf’s cage is a multilevel cage. It is all metal except for the pull-out plastic pan (which is under a grate, so the chins can’t get to either the pan or the bedding). The cage features a hanging (well-secured) wooden hidey house, a wooden hanging tunnel, and multiple wooden shelves! Of course, if you get his cage, we’ll also throw in a food bowl and water bottle, so you have some other stuff to start out with! If you’d like Olaf’s cage and accessories with him, you can get him AND all his stuff for $200!

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Tradition pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

The adoption fee for Olaf is $100 OR adopt Olaf with his cage and all accessories for $200!!
