Ocean Rat Rat Saint Paul, MN

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Lazy, Cuddly, Playful, Sweet

Favorite treats: Popcorn, uncooked pasta, carrots, apples, grapes

Favorite toys and activities: Snoozing in his hammock with his brother, hanging out in the PVC pipes, playing in a brand new cardboard box, chasing his brother around their enclosure

Potty trained: No

This animal daily routine: In the mornings they get a little bit of food and some attention while his foster tidies up their cage around 7:00 AM. In the evenings they get floor time around 6:00 PM along another cage tidy up and a food refresh. They sleep in their hammocks or pipes during the day and are very active at night.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): Yes! Ocean is bonded to Stream!

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Dogs and cats through play pen walls and enclosure walls. Recent interactions have been non-reactive

Other notes: Ocean is a big fan of his hammock where you will find him snoozing or relaxing most of the day, sometimes alone, sometimes with his brother. He and Stream enjoy redecorating anything in their cage that isn’t nailed down in the evenings, including flipping over their igloo. Ocean loves to chew fleece, especially if it’s fleece from a cage that isn’t his own, pulling it into his part of the cage so he can then shred it. Ocean may be small, but he is packed with personality!

Ocean & Stream made their way to MNPPR as a transfer all the way from TN where they were a part of a hoarding case.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Ocean’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Chuck & Don's Pet Food & Supplies, 910 Wildwood Rd, Mahtomedi, MN 55115 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
