Edamame Hedgehog Hedgehog Saint Paul, MN

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Estimated birth date: 6/1/2019

Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Friendly toward other animals, Nervous, Cautious - needs time to become acclimated to changes and then when he is comfortable he becomes more confident.

Favorite treats: Hard boiled egg

Favorite toys and activities: Loves stuffed toys and wheel

Potty trained: Mostly poops on wheel - which is in his litter box.

This animal daily routine: Not solidly established yet, have still been giving him time to settle in.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): No, Edamame prefers to live alone.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Dogs. At first balled up, but when the dogs showed no interest, he quickly recovered and went back to exploring.

Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Edamame is in our Trust Training Program to boost his ability to interact with humans. When handled with uncertainty, he becomes fearful and retreats, due to this we feel he will need an experienced and confident adopter.

Edamame found his way to MNPPR as a transfer from a SD Humane Society.
Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Edamame’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Chuck & Don's Pet Food & Supplies - 4723 County Rd 101, Minnetonka, MN 55345 or PetSmart - 11200 Prairie Lakes Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
