Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Estimated birth date: 10/29/2019

Personality: Aggressive (lunges, bites, etc), Friendly toward humans, Playful, Energetic

Favorite treats: Anything sweet!

Favorite toys and activities: Running in wheel or ball, demolishing toilet paper tubes, redecorating her apartment.

Potty trained: Haven’t tried

This animal daily routine: Gets anti-seizure medication squirted on a tiny pinch of bread morning and evening.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): No, Carlotta prefers to live alone.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Dogs, cats, rabbits, chinchillas - interested. Met while in ball only.

Health concerns: Carlotta has a medical history of ringworm but has since been tested negative. She also has epilepsy which is currently being controlled with twice daily phenobarbital, this is given on a small piece of bread for ease. Carlotta will need to be on this medication for the remainder of her life to control her seizures.

Behavioral concerns: Carlotta is in our trust training program for aggressive biting and cage guarding behavior. Learn more about our trust training methods at https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/trust-training /

Other notes: Carlotta will need to be on phenobarbital for life most likely for seizure control.

Carlotta was a transfer from AHS for aggression towards staff.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Carlotta’s foster parent prefers to meet at the PetSmart, 5640 Cedar Lake Rd, Minneapolis, MN 55416 or Chuck & Don's Pet Food & Supplies, 3244 W Lake St, Minneapolis, MN 55416 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
