Meet Grease Lightening and Lickety Split

Cowabunga dude! Meet the coolest turtles ever! We are a friendly pair of red-eared sliders that have lots of personality. Yes, that's right, we have personality! We recognize our caregivers and swim over to the front of our aquarium, poke our heads up out of the water, and beg for treats! Our favorite is a baby carrot. We grab it in our mouth and swim away to devour it. We love mealworms and dried shrimp, and will also eat leafy greens. Basking on our rock under the heat lamp is our favorite activity, but we will "slide" off to greet you if you come into the room. We are social and like attention and company, so a home where someone will stop by our aquarium often and talk to us (and give us treats) would be great! We were part of a cruelty case and had to wait since December 2020 for a home. Now we are cleared and ready to be adopted! Come on in and check us out soon!
Fun Fact: Although you can't see our ears, we still have them! They are just covered by skin. Our aquatic ears are so sensitive that researchers believe that red-eared sliders use underwater sound communication with other members of our species! Awesome!
