Meet Peplum

Estimated birth date: 12/1/18

Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Energetic, Nervous, Sweet

Favorite treats: Peplum loves carrots, bell peppers, spinach, romaine lettuce, and cilantro. There's not much this bun won't eat.

Favorite toys and activities: Peplum loves chew toys and balls made out of twigs, new cardboard boxes, and chasing her buddy Cummerbund.

Potty trained: Peplum is mostly litter box trained. She will occasionally poop outside of her litter box but never pees outside of it.

This animal daily routine: Peplum gets fed breakfast around 6 am and dinner around 6 pm. Her litter box and habitat get thoroughly cleaned twice a week and spot cleaned daily. Peplum lives the free range lifestyle in a pet proofed, meaning she has free range to all of the home but she chooses to stay in the room with the big rug and all her toys and food.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): Yes! Peplum is bonded to Cummerbund!

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Peplum has been exposed to cats and guinea pigs. She is very inquisitive towards everyone she meets. She has never paid much attention to any other animals around her.

Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Peplum was initially in the Trust Training Program but has since graduated! Peplum is on the anxious side, and her foster anticipates that her anxiety may heighten upon transition to a new home. She just needs a loving and patient approach and she should come around quickly. Peplum is very food motivated, so offering her small pieces of veggies at a time from your hand (for example, one baby carrot at a time rather than placing her veggie serving in a bowl) has proven very effective in gaining her trust.

Other notes: None

Cummerbund & Peplum found their way to MNPPR when their owner became ill and was unable to continue care. Cummerbund had previously been with MNPPR as a transfer from another rescue that did not specialize in long term rabbit care.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Peplum’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Chuck & Don's Pet Food & Supplies 3244 W Lake St, Minneapolis, MN 55416 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

Our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/process

Fee: Cummerbund & Peplum have a combined adoption fee of $130.

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask.
