Our Mission
Dakota Dog Rescue Services is dedicated to rescuing dogs in east-central South Dakota and surrounding communities focusing primarily on abandoned dogs and euth listed dogs. Through humane trapping, veterinary care, safe shelter, advocacy, and education, we help dogs in need find loving forever homes while promoting responsible pet ownership and helping control the dog population.
Adoption Policy
Adopters must be over 18 years old. All individuals in the home must agree to the adoption and attend a meet-and-greet. Applicants must complete an application detailing their lifestyle, home environment, and daily schedule. The applicant must provide a vet reference as well as two other references (not family). The applicant must agree to a home visit (in person or virtually). Adopters must sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee and refundable deposit (if a puppy). The rescue reserves the right to reclaim the dog if the contract is violated such as proven neglect, abuse, or failure to provide appropriate vetting paperwork.
