Founded in 2017, Fishtails Animal Rescue (FAR) is a foster-based 501(c)3 organization committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of the at-risk, stray, and shelter animals of Philadelphia. FAR provides animals with necessary medical treatment, safe and loving foster homes, and ultimately, their forever home.

Fishtails Animal Rescue strives to provide you with a healthy pet. However, the stress of changing environments can lower an animal’s immunity to fight disease and the pet could harbor an infection without displaying symptoms. We cannot guarantee the health of any animal.
Any pet adopted out by Fishtails Animal Rescue will be up-to-date on vaccines (unless medically contraindicated), microchipped, spayed/neutered (if age appropriate*), and given a dose of flea/heartworm preventative. The microchip must be registered by the adopter to their new information.
*If the animal is not spayed/neutered at time of adoption, the adopter will do so within 2 months after the animal reaches 6 months of age. In addition, if pet is under 16 weeks at the time of adoption, adopter is responsible for boosters for vaccines.
The first step in our adoption process is to complete the adoption application, linked below.
Applications are reviewed within 72 hours of submissions.
Please contact the rescue directly at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
