NJ Sheltie Rescue / Shetland Sheepdog Plcmt Svcs of NJ
Our Mission
To help shetland sheepdogs / sheltie mixes in need in NJ find their adoptive homes.
Adoption Policy
We require a completed adoption application prior to considering any home for adoption. We check references (one must be a vet reference), we also do in-person home checks (no exceptions). Our dogs are all fostered in private homes, we do not have a kennel. We do not allow potential adopters to meet our fosters unless they have been approved to adopt from us.
We like to keep our dog in NJ or within a reasonable distance and we do generally require a securely fenced yard at least 4 foot to adopt. Sometimes there are exceptions.
Every dog that comes to our rescue is caught up on vaccinations, bloodwork, spay/neuter and treatment for parasites, as needed. They will also get dentals as recommended by one our vets.
Adoption fees vary based on age of the dog and any health or behavioral issues they may have.
