Our Mission
Made a Promise Rescue is a Kansas City based nonprofit, fully volunteer run. We rescue dogs without homes, provide them with compassionate care, and place them in loving, responsible families; to ensure that every animal helped is given the chance to live a safe, healthy and valued life; and to educate adopters to promote successful, lasting placements. A promise made, a life saved.
Adoption Policy
Step One:
Submit an application for the dog or dogs you are interested in. Our team will review every detail and contact your personal references and your veterinarian to complete the full check.
If your application is not the right fit
You will receive an email explaining why your application is not the best match for that dog. We always want to keep things open and kind so you understand the reasoning.
If your application is a good match
You will hear from us. If we feel you might also be a great fit for another dog in our care we will let you know that too. We may request photos of your home or schedule a home visit so we can be sure the environment is safe and comfortable for the dog.
From there we will schedule a phone call with you to talk through the dog and answer questions. After that we will set up a meet and greet with the dog.
Final approval
If the meet and greet goes well and everyone feels comfortable we will move forward with the adoption!
