Best Friends in Atlanta works collaboratively with area shelters, animal welfare organizations and individuals to save the lives of pets in shelters in the region. The Best Friends Lifesaving Center is a lifesaving hub for animals and a base for local programming and coalition-building to help the metro-Atlanta area in its final push to end the killing of dogs and cats in shelters, while strengthening the movement in the Southeast. Together, we will Save Them All.
We have an open adoption process and offer same day adoptions. When you come in, we allow you to view our adoptable pets, and we will pair you up with an adoption specialist to assist you in determining a good fit for your lifestyle and home. After you have spent some time getting to know the animals, we will go through a counseling session, review any behavioral or medical notes, and answer any questions. If you decide to proceed to the adoption, we will go over the complete medical history, provide you with training and vet resources, give your pet some take home food, and review the adoption contract. We have leashes, collars, and cat carriers for sale. Per USDA regulations, all animals must leave the facility on a leash or in a carrier. Please note, the minimum age for adoption is 18 years old.
