?We have been serving Heber Springs since 1980.
We are a 501c (3) nonprofit organization.

Adoption Policy

If you are interested in meeting an animal, complete an adoption application posted on this page.

Once your application is approved, a volunteer will contact you. ?

During this call, we will schedule an in-person meet and greet with the pet of interest or will visit with you about the type of pet desired and recommend a few to animals to met at your appointment.

Please note that a submitted application does not place that pet on hold for you or guarantee that you will be able to meet that pet.

Each appointment is limited to one hour for meet and greets.

Dog meet and greets will take place outside in a dog park if weather permits.

You may bring an existing dog(s) to the meet and greet to check animal compatibility.

If you decide to adopt an animal, we will process adoption fees and paperwork at the time of adoption.

Please bring cash or check.

Dogs are $100.00 and cats $60.00 unless there are special offers listed on the Heber Springs Humane Society website.

Microchipping may be done for additional $20.00 on animals as requested by the adopter, unless they are too young, The adopter will be given the microchip paperwork and it is the responsibility of the adopter to register his or her microchipped animal.

Animals that are already spayed/neutered may be available to go home the same day.

Puppies under 6 months will be required to be spayed or neutered at 6 months with proof of sterilization sent to our shelter.

If the adopter uses one of our approved local vets, the basic spay or neuter will be free to the adopter as long as the yellow adoption contract is taken to the spay or neuter appointment. A puppy must be 6 months old to be spayed or neutered. The spay or neuter appointment must be made within the first two weeks after adopting the puppy. Again, we do not pay for the extras that might be offered.

Please make sure to bring a leash and harness if adopting a dog. Cat carriers are required for cat adoptions.
