Meet Elsa
Elsa is a 16-year-old appendix quarter horse. She is 15.1 hands
Elsa was saved out of a Tennessee ship pen where she was heading to slaughter. The stories goes. She was used as a lesson horse up north, then dumped at an auction
She is broke to ride. However, we have found out recently that she does have kissing spine which is why she was probably dumped because she was no longer used to anyone. This is a condition similar to like arthritis in the spine that can be corrected with surgery. However, the surgery runs between $2,500 to $5,000 as we're told by Ohio State University
We are currently trying to fundraise to provide this surgery for so she could have a writing career since she has so much life left in her. She is a cribber so she must wear a cribbing strap at all times. She can be a boss mare in the pasture if she is allowed to be by the other horses but she does get along with anyone
Elsa's a very sweet horse. Easy to handle. Good for vet. Good for farrier is current with all her vaccinations is microchipped and is current with her farrier and warming program as well as a dental.
At this time we are considering Elsa to just be a pasture ornament. Can be a buddy for another horse until her surgery can be completed to make her rideable again. We found out she had this kissing spine when she kept b running off with people which means she was running away from the pain. Not trying to hurt the person
If you would like to give Elsa a home is a pasture ornament or have the finances to provide the surgery she needs to make her rideable. Please contact Voice For Horses Rescue Network at voiceforhorses@att.net or call text 419-350-4195
Thank you for considering a rescue horse and have a blessed day
