Ziva (former Chai)'s Story

She is gorgeous, she is glamorous but Ziva is no diva. While she seems distant and aloof, it's only because she once led a life on the streets.
Ziva (formerly Chai) came to us with her sister and they were all but feral. It took months before we were able to take care of them without terrifying them. After a year, they were each adopted out separately, something we thought would take much longer than it did.
And now, five years later, Ziva finds herself back with us. Her family situation changed and she was returned.
We didn't know what to expect when she came back, but she has made great progress. She has been to the vet and did well there. She is among the other dogs now and she enjoys the company.
Ziva was even in playgroup and when Creedence came running toward her from across the Garden, like a freight train out of control, and plowed right into her, she just looked at him as if to say "there are easier ways to meet a girl."
We have such high hopes for Ziva - she is now 8-years-old and gorgeous. She is settling in and looking more for ways to interact with the other dogs versus how to escape.
We would love for Ziva's last years to be ones of peace, love and contentment. Ones where she can be with her person(s) and know they only want the best for her and will do whatever it takes.
Please help us share Ziva's story - she got out of the woods and off the streets and was in a home for five years, and we don't want her to languish in a shelter - she deserves so much more than that!
Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton. Open every day between 9AM and noon.
Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!

PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
