Meet our distinguished gentleman, Winston! Winston is a 3-year-old miniature poodle with a beautiful silver and apricot coat. This handsome boy came to us as an owner surrender after spending his entire life in an apartment. Once he arrived at his foster home, it quickly became clear how much he had been missing the freedom of a backyard and open space to run.<br/><br/>Winston absolutely LOVES playing with his foster dog siblings, and if there’s a toy involved — game on! Watching him zoom around the yard is pure joy. He’s also a total velcro dog who loves being close to his people and has never met a stranger. Winston enjoys car rides, loves going for walks, and is always ready to tag along for whatever adventure the day brings.<br/><br/>Winston weighs 10 pounds and has done wonderfully integrating into his foster family’s pack. He would thrive either as an only dog with someone home more often than not, or in a home with other small dogs. Large dogs are not a good fit for him, but cats are just fine! Because Winston has not been around children in foster care, we are unsure how he would do in a home with kids so a mature home is best suited to set him up for success.<br/><br/>Winston is crate trained at night, house trained and walks nicely on a leash with a harness. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, on flea and tick prevention, and has received a 12-month ProHeart injection for heartworm prevention.<br/><br/>For out-of-state adopters, Winston can travel safely with one of our trusted transport partners, Freedom Run Express or Tigger’s Texas Transport. We adopt to multiple states to help each dog find their perfect forever home.
