Westie

Hi! I'm Westie and I am currently being fostered in Wilmington, NC. I am a roughly 1 year old 13# spayed female who was rescued in the Guilford Co area after being seen as a stray for several weeks. I am up to date on vaccines and am being treated for heartworm. I absolutely adore all the dogs I meet and will play with (and annoy) them until they tell me to back off. I have puppy tendencies so my family will need to make sure I'm not left unattended around your favorite pair of shoes, clothing, books, or really anything that looks like a toy! I came from the shelter rather feral and have taken time and patience to come out of my shell. My family will need the same patience and understanding as I adapt to a new routine at their home. I do not walk on a leash and would need time to learn how. I am fearful of the big world outside my home, thus a securely fenced in yard is required. While I would do fine with children, it is not suggested as I am a flight risk. An open door would be disaster. I love to give kisses and will lick you silly, I am sassy and crazy and have a little demon streak that could keep you laughing. My little fur brother is teaching me to dig and catch moles!!!
