Meet Wally

This young guy is now named Wally. He was part of a surrender that included several dogs. He has had little to no socialization. He is not as bad as some of them and will sit and let you pet him - he won't come to you but at least he doesn't run and try to hide when you are petting him. There is NO aggression whatsoever. He just has never had anyone actually try to pay attention to him. He lived in horid conditions. Had never seen a vet, had never had a shot. He isn't sure how to eat out of a dog bowl because he apparently was just fed by dumping food on the ground. Obviously he isn't housebroken.

He will take some time, patience and lots of love. He is young - between 9 months and a year old. He looks like he inherited more of the "flat coated retriever" look from his heritage. We are told that the older female on the property (which was a Heeler) was the mom to all. The two older intact males - one was a lab/terrier mix and the other one was probably a lab/flat coat retriever mix.

He is being neutered on Tuesday 5/18/21. We did give him shots as we unloaded the van last night and he will get his Rabies vaccine and a heartworm check on the 18th.

The road to recover for this baby is going to require work and lots of patience and love. Once he realizes humans are good to him we believe he will make steady progress.

He will be available on a foster to adopt program. We will not adopt him out directly - we want to make sure he is making progress in a new environment.
