Vinter's Story

Meet Vinter! Vinter came to CCHS as an owner surrender with his sister, Luna, after their living situation became unsuitable for them leading their owner to make the difficult decision to surrender to give them an opportunity to thrive elsewhere. This handsome Sheepdog/Poodle mix is about 3 years and 4 months old and weighs roughly 87.2lbs currently. Vinter is a bit of a bashful guy! He takes a little bit to warm up to new people but is very food motivated, so a few treats here and there might just wiggle your way up his totem pole! While Vinter gets along with other dogs, he would benefit greatly from being the only pup in his furever home to help get his nervous system back on track after the stress he endured prior to coming into CCHS. With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the pup. Apply for Vinter today!

Please note the "Start Your Inquiry" button to the right above is not submitting your application. You can click on "More About Us" to the right and then click on "Adoption Application" button which will take you to our website where you can actually apply. You can also go to cchs-petshelter.org/applying-to-adopt or bit.ly/CCHSadopt. Thank you!

Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response.

The adoption fee is $200. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption.

CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP.
