Vinnie (I need a short term foster)'s Story
Meet Vinnie-a 15 pound mixed breed with silky soft hair who was living on the streets of Houston. He was in deplorable condition when first picked up, cleaned up and given proper vetting (be sure to see pic of Vinnie when first rescued). This poor guy has been thru quite a lot on his journey to the good life. Understandably, Vinnie needs a slow introduction period to new people before he trusts them, it isn't too long and high value treats win him over quickly. I am sure he was not treated kindly on the streets. Vinnie loves laps and cuddles, walks, playtime with toys, and is doing well in his foster home. Completely housebroken and crate trained, he may be happiest being the only dog. Some dogs, especially large or rambunctious dogs scare him. Lives with a family with a teenager, please no young kids.

Vinnie was diagnosed with heartworms, he does not have symptoms, undergoing treatment and is expected to live a full life. He is getting his last treatment on July 14th, and then will need a period of quiet time (happy to discuss in full detail with an interested applicant.) Looking for a foster who might be interested in adopting Vinnie, he will be ready to adopt about August 1st.

PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing or "inquiring" is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog.

The adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm test if age appropriate and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped.

Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application)

We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment
