Looking for His Human

Hi Everyone meet Vincent. He is a 2 year-old cattle dog that had a rough beginning in life living in a puppy mill. Eventually, Vincent and all of his fellow dogs were rescued and he made his way into the Australia Cattle Dog Association and to me, his foster Mom.

While Vincent is 2 years old, he is still very much a puppy. Originally he was going to be named Vinnie, but he wasn’t housebroken when he arrived and Vinnie was just too cool of a name, so it became Vincent. He is a smart boy and in just a couple of weeks we were good to go with no accidents inside. We are still working on commands, but he does learn quickly. Vincent knows sit, drop it, and leave. He loves to chase his ball, although we are still working on the return part of fetch. It’s getting closer everyday. Stay and down are a bit of a struggle, but that’s just the puppy in him that coming out. After all, being still when there is so much going on is hard. Especially since he lives with his 4 roommates--two other cattle dogs, a terrier named Princess (enough said), and a cat. Unfortunately, it is Vincent’s reaction to the cat that has kept him from being a foster fail. Minnie is a very dog savvy cat and she is afraid of him, so NO cats.

Vincent gets a long well with his fellow dogs except for one issue. True to the breed, he wants his person, and his person right now is me, his foster Mom. That creates an issue with one of his roommates, who will let him know his place in the pack. Vincent accepts this, but is not happy. He can get a little vocal.

Vincent is just this lovable, uncoordinated, energetic, and charismatic putz that is looking for his human. Time, some training, and lots of love will get you a best friend for life. As much as I would love to keep him, I know that there is someone out there that is meant to be his person.

Vincent is micro chipped, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. He is living with his foster family near Pittsburgh PA.
