Venus D9548's Story
Hi, I'm Venus, and I have two settings: Velcro and Extra Velcro.

When I first arrived in foster care, the world was a very suspicious place. Coffee makers? Terrifying. My reflection in the window? Clearly an intruder. Snow shovels? Absolutely not. Coming from a neglectful situation, everything was new, confusing, and a little scary. But look at me now! I've blossomed into a confident, adventurous girl who's ready to take on the world... as long as my people come with me.

My daily schedule is pretty simple. Mornings are for sleeping in, cuddling in bed, and supervising couch snuggles. Afternoons are when I unleash my inner athlete with yard time, training sessions, short walks, fetch, and occasional zoomie explosions that end with me dramatically collapsing in the dirt wearing my signature pittie grin. Evenings? Those are reserved exclusively for cuddling. I take my cuddle responsibilities very seriously.

I love my humans more than words can describe. At first, I followed them so closely I was practically attached to their ankles. Now I'm secure enough to relax nearby while still keeping them under constant surveillance. I firmly believe physical contact is a basic necessity, and if you stop petting me, I will assume you've simply forgotten and remind you immediately. I also give world-class hugs and fully expect them in return.

Meeting new people is exciting! I'll happily say hello on walks, though visitors entering my home might get a cautious inspection before earning my approval. As for other dogs, my feelings are... complicated. Sometimes I'm friendly, sometimes I'm overwhelmed, and sometimes I make very poor decisions about expressing my excitement. Because of my history and previous experiences with other dogs, I would thrive as your one-and-only furry companion where I can focus all my love on my people.

I'm crate trained, potty trained, bath approved, and highly motivated by treats and praise. In fact, if you tell me I'm a good girl, my entire face lights up like I just won the lottery. I know my toys belong to me and usually leave your belongings alone, although I still occasionally check the counters to make sure no snacks have mysteriously appeared. My foster family would also like you to know that squeakers and tennis balls are not safe from me.

One of my funniest habits is my highly specialized method of showing affection. Most dogs give kisses. Not me. I like to carefully press my nose against your face, ear, or neck and take a long, dramatic sniff as if I'm conducting important scientific research. It's weird. It's adorable. It tickles.

If there's one thing you should know about living with me, it's this: I don't just want to be part of your life-I want to be your favorite part of every day. I deserve a home where I can be spoiled, adored, and treated like the center of the universe. In return, I'll give you endless loyalty, laughter, cuddles, and enough love to make up for all the years I went without it.

Love,
Venus
Professional Cuddle Inspector, Amateur Scent Detective, and Full-Time Good Girl
