Trapper's Story

Trapper is a one hundred pound 14 month old Great Pyrenees/Great Dane/Anatolian Shepherd mix (DNA tested!) and the very definition of a gentle giant.

This sweet boy has lived through more than any dog ever should. At just 9 months old, he was shot—and although he has healed physically, the emotional scars mean he’s still learning that people can be kind. Loud noises, especially fireworks or gunshots, understandably frighten him. What helps him most is reassurance, calm voices, and the people he trusts.

What truly defines Trapper, though, is his incredibly gentle nature. He lives for cuddles, belly rubs, and quiet time close to his humans. If you sit down, he will happily lean into you and soak up every bit of affection you offer. He’s a big, soft-hearted teddy bear who just wants kindness and consistency.

Trapper currently lives with four dogs in his foster home and does well with them, but he prefers calm canine friends who won’t jump on him or play rough. He wouldn’t mind being someone’s one-and-only either—he’s happiest in a peaceful environment where he can relax without chaos.

He will need a physically fenced yard where he can safely explore at his own pace. Trapper may be young, but he has an old soul—steady, sensitive, and deeply loving.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than gentle affection and a safe place to land, Trapper might be the perfect match. He’s ready for a home where he can finally feel secure, cherished, and understood.
Trapper is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.

If you’d like to meet Trapper, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org.

Questions? Fur Fun Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our dogs are all in foster homes. We require a completed application prior to meeting one of our dogs. The adoption application is on our website: furfunrescue.org. Once the application is received, we check the veterinarian reference if you have or have had pets. Then we contact you to set up a time to meet the dog. If, after meeting the dog you want to proceed with an adoption, we will run a background check, call personal references, and do a home visit. We always introduce our dog to any current pets. The final step is completing the adoption contract.
