Meet Toto! Looking for a loyal sidekick who believes personal space is highly overrated? Toto is a 9-10 year old Shih Tzu-Brussels Griffon mix who is sweet, soulful and happiest when he knows exactly where his people are at all times. Toto is the definition of a velcro dog. If you sit, he sits. If you nap, he naps. If you sleep... well, he sleeps in the bed, because Toto is the only dog we know who insists on bedtime cuddles for everyone's well-being (trust us — nobody sleeps otherwise ). Despite his age, Toto still lives for his walks. He gets excited, trots along proudly and enjoys leisurely strolls. He also loves sniffing around the yard, soaking up the sunshine and making sure his human is always within eyesight. He does have a bit of arthritis, which gives him a unique little gait but once he gets moving, he kind of channels Ace Ventura energy and it's impossible not to smile. Toto is low-energy and extremely chill as long as someone is around. Thanks to a chaotic past, he does have a bit of separation anxiety and does not like being crated. He's happiest in a home where<br/>someone is home often so he can feel safe and secure. Once settlea, he can relax on his own for short periods with reassurance. He's mostly potty trained and he has limited hearing, so occasionally you'll need to tap him gently to let him know you're nearby. Toto has a bit of a cough which we believe to be possibly a collapsed trachea. It is fully managed with daily medication and the meds work wonderfully. He takes them without issue and doesn't let it slow him down one bit. Toto is laid back, gentle and tolerant of pretty much everyone. He's good with dogs, puppies, people, you name it. He has no food aggression and enjoys Greenies and deer antlers. He doesn't mind being picked up, handles care well and may startle awake sometimes due to his hearing, but quickly settles once he knows you're there.
