Hello there my name is Tobey, and I also answer to Tobias, but when I get called Tobias it usually means I have to pay more attention. Well, I am sure you are wondering how a handsome lad like me ended up in a rescue.
When I was just six weeks my dad came and adopted me and we expected to live our lives out together, but sadly my dad passed away and although other family members tried to look after me their life was too busy and, so they gave me to a friend. Sadly, they didn’t have time for me either, so I was taken into the rescue.
I was being moved around a lot and I was so scared. I didn’t know where my dad was and my home, and although I had my blankets, he had gotten me and my bed and my fav toys, but I didn’t have him. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this new situation, but you know what it isn’t that bad.
I was scared at first and would hide in the yard. I didn't have the hiding part down really good and would have to be coaxed back into the house, but after a few days, I thought, well this isn’t so bad after all. Now I am a good boy but can get jealous of other dogs wanting your attention, so it would be best if I was an only boy, or just maybe had a sister, if you insist.
I would also prefer a home without too many stairs, but if you do have them, I taught my foster parents how to help me. They clip a lead on my collar and walk me down really slowly and hold on tightly, cause halfway down, I have this silly thought that I can fly and I will launch myself and I am not a graceful flyer.
Going up is easier, but I do like the lead to help me and know you are by my side to keep me safe.
I will also need help getting up on the sofa but will let you grab my collar and then lift my ample bum for me. Yes, I said it, I have an ample bum, the reason I am on a diet. I love my walks though, and will happily go with you, but please no coats as they scare me when they go over my head.
I am going to need an older person with love and understanding of all I have went through and will know the mind and the heart of a terrier and let me adjust at my own speed. I do sleep in my crate at night and like that, but I do require a treat as a reward for doing so. So, is this a love match? If yes, please follow the instructions below.
