Timmy's Story

Hi, I’m Timmy 👋🐾

I’m about 2 years old, neutered, up to date on all my vaccines, housebroken, and looking for my forever family.

My foster family says I’m a very good boy — and honestly, I agree. I love being close to my people, getting praise, and hearing “good boy” approximately 700 times a day. I’m sweet, affectionate, and one of my favorite things is giving love. Whether it’s snuggling up beside you, following you from room to room, or looking at you with my big hopeful eyes, I love making my people feel loved.

I’m also crate trained! I happily go into my crate when my humans leave the house and at bedtime. I get along well with other small dogs and older kids, too.

I can be a little shy and easily startled sometimes. I used to be a stray, so I’m still learning that the world is safe and that I don’t have to worry anymore. Because of that, a home with very young kids probably isn’t the best fit for me. I’d do best with patient, kind people who will help me continue building confidence.

Oh, and I’m still working on filling out a little. Life as a stray wasn't exactly great for regular meals, so I’m on the skinny side right now. The good news is that I have a healthy appetite, and with some love, good food, and a little time, I’ll be looking even more handsome than I already do.

One other thing: my foster family suspects I may have a chicken allergy. We're still figuring that out, but I seem to do better when chicken isn't on the menu. It’s a pretty easy thing to manage, and I wanted you to know upfront because I believe honesty is important in any relationship. 😉

What I really want is simple: a soft place to land, people to love, and lots of reminders that I’m the best boy ever. In return, I promise to give you all the love I have.

If you think we might be a match, I’d love to meet you ❤️🐾

You can find an application for me at www.homesfurhounds.org

I'm located in Williamsburg, Va.

Homes Fur Hounds, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
1. Once you have identified the dog(s) you are interested in meeting, you must submit an Adoption Application. You can find the application at https://www.homesfurhounds.org 2. Be patient. We occasionally have a high volume of applications, especially on puppies. 3. If your application is approved you will be contacted to arrange a meet and greet with the dog(s) you are interested in meeting. Whenever we have more than one applicant who is approved, we set up the meet and greet in the order in which the applications were received. 4. We are a small rescue group and do require home checks. Therefore, we only adopt to VA, NC and MD. Exceptions are made for medically needy or seniors if no qualified applicant is located in our adoption area. 5. We do keep applications on file for 6 months, so even if you aren’t selected for a particular dog, if you see another dog of interest, let us know and we will consider your application at that time. 6. Please don’t be offended if you are not selected to adopt. We try to match the dog with the BEST home for them. Just because you weren’t selected for a specific dog does not mean you can’t apply for another one. 7. Our adoption fee is $300.00.
