OTHER PETS: Theo has been social with other dogs while at TJO; engaging in appropriate sniffing and reading other dogs' body language well. He tried to initiate play with another medium-sized dog, and even moved away on his own when the other dog asked for space! Theo would likely do well with other dog social dogs, but as always, Theo should meet any dog he would be living with prior to adoption. He can pull quite strongly on the leash, however, and would likely do best with someone experienced with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn, and the patience and physical ability to manage strong dogs while teaching loose-leash walking. [Some Experience] KIDS: Theo is an outgoing dog who is comfortable with most handling, however, he has shown some mild resource-guarding while at TJO with both food and possessions, so he would not be a good fit for a home with small humans. For safety, and to help dogs feel more comfortable around high value items, always trade up with items of equal or higher value instead of removing prized possessions. A combination of regular exercise combined with plenty of mental enrichment such as food puzzles and scent games will help fully meet his needs, and with further training he would likely make a great hiking partner!
