Teague's Story

At just 2 years old, this handsome Plott Hound mix is a total showstopper with his beautiful, fluffy brindle coat and some of the longest legs you’ve ever seen. (Seriously—this guy might have been a racehorse in a former life!)

Teague is as sweet and gentle as they come. He’s non-aggressive and has a soft, sensitive side, though he may take a little time to warm up to new people and environments. Don’t let his bark fool you—it can sound impressive, but underneath it all he’s truly a big chicken with a heart of gold.

Once he feels comfortable, Teague’s playful personality shines. He loves to run and is incredibly fast, happiest when he’s zooming around or being chased. His signature move? The classic play bow—his go-to way of making friends, and it works every time. He absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. (Though fair warning: if he spots a potential playmate, he might get creative about finding a way to join them—this boy can be a bit of an escape artist!)

Teague is also a big fan of chew toys… emphasis on chew. If it’s a toy, he’s on a mission to destroy it. Durable toys are a must for this enthusiastic player. When he gets excited, his powerful, energetic nature can sometimes lead to a few accidental bumps, so a home that can handle his playful strength would be ideal.

The good news? He’s fully potty-trained and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to the right home. He does well with other dogs and even cats, and he’s been great with older kids. Younger, more rambunctious children can make him a bit nervous, so a calmer environment would help him feel his best.

Teague would thrive in a home ready to embrace his goofy, athletic spirit—one that can give him plenty of exercise, playtime, and love. If you’re looking to add a loyal, fun-loving companion who might just be part horse, Teague is your guy!

If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out our application, and someone will be in touch with you shortly!
https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/
