SWEETIE is LOCATED in HICO, TX<br/><br/>Poor Sweetie's story is a sad one. Sweetie, first came to the Hico Shelter, about a year ago, as one of six, Anatolian/Heeler mix puppies, who were unceremoniously dumped over the local vet's fence. She was subsequently adopted by a local city worker, and was leading a great life, until a week ago, when he found out he was being deployed, and wouldn't be home for over a year. <br/><br/>He had no luck finding friends or family to take her in, so she's back at the shelter with the tearful request, we find her a loving home. <br/><br/>As her name implies, Sweetie, is sweet, young dog, who loves people and gets along with other dogs. Sweetie is house and doggie door trained. She's good on leash, but loud noises scare her and she'll pancake. Sweetie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, rabies, bordatella and is on preventatives for fleas/ticks, heartworms, and other intestinal parasites. She currently, weighs around 45-50lbs. <br/><br/>Poor Sweetie just needs someone who will love and care for her. We work to rehabilitate and rehome unwanted cats and dogs in Stephenville and surrounding towns. We have recently expanded our scope to include Hamilton County, TX and are currently working with the City of Hamilton and the Hico Police Department to find loving foster and permanent homes for dogs that have been abandoned and have ended up in the Hamilton Pound or the Hico Animal Shelter. <br/> Pets Are Worth Saving (P.A.W.S.)'s mission is to sponsor low cost spay/neuter and wellness exams, provide community education and provide food and supplies to those in need. We also do our best to find loving homes for abandoned, neglected, or abused animals. Our animals are vaccinated and on preventatives.
