Storm's Story
Say hello to STORM

Fostered in Tallahassee
*FENCE REQUIRED*

Storm is a 2-year-old merle Great Dane currently living in a foster home in Tallahassee with two other Danes who are helping show him the ropes. At first glance, he can seem a little unsure of the world. New people make him nervous, and he tends to hang back until he decides everything is safe. But once Storm realizes you’re a friend, the clouds part and his sweet personality shines through.

And what a personality it is!

Storm is still very much a giant puppy. He has lots of energy, loves to run and play, and is absolutely obsessed with a good game of fetch. If you have a fenced yard and enjoy watching a big goofy Dane gallop around chasing a ball like it’s the greatest job in the world, Storm will happily clock in for that shift every single day.

After he’s burned off some of that youthful energy, Storm reveals his softer side. He’s incredibly sweet and loves affection from the people he trusts. Deep down he’s a mamas boy. Underneath that shy exterior is a cuddly pup who just wants to feel safe and loved.

Like many young Danes, Storm is still learning the rules of indoor living. He’s currently working on potty training and still has the occasional nighttime accident, and he’s also in that classic “puppy chewing phase” where shoes and other tempting items might look like chew toys if left unattended. He’ll need a patient adopter who understands that he’s still growing up and is willing to continue helping him learn good habits.

Storm would do best with someone committed to training and socialization so he can build confidence and continue learning that the world (and car travel in particular) isn’t such a scary place. Because he’s still shy with new people, a calm home and a patient human willing to go at his pace will help him thrive.

He gets along well with other dogs and currently lives peacefully with other Great Danes, so another friendly dog in the home could be a wonderful confidence booster for him. A fenced yard is required so he can safely run, play fetch, and burn off his energy. When the Storm is scared, he goes into flight mode, never fight mode.

Storm isn’t a “perfectly polished” dog yet — he’s still a work in progress. But for the right person, that’s part of the magic. Watching a shy dog grow into a confident, happy companion is one of the most rewarding journeys there is.

If you’re the kind of person who believes in patience, second chances, and the joy of helping a big puppy discover how wonderful life can be, Storm might just be your perfect match.

Storm is neutered, fully vaccinated, and chipped. His adoption fee is $400.

To read over the adoption requirements before applying to adopt Storm, please go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

Please note: NWFLGDR does not transport. Approved adopters must travel to pick up the dog in person.
