Hello, my name is Starry Night. I was found on the streets of Detroit in October 2010. I was very sick and the vet said if I hadn't been rescued when I was, I wouldn't have lived. I had survived by eating anything I could and my insides were a mess. I had emergency surgery and a loving foster mom nursed me back to health. You wouldn't believe I'm the same dog. I feel GREAT! I'm happy, strong and healthy. I have a special food I eat, but otherwise, I'm doing fantastic. I love other dogs and I need a home with another dog or two. I am still learning to be confident and other dogs show me the way. I'm good with cats. I've lived with one since I was rescued. I LOVE my crate. It's my den and my security blanket. I'm a quiet dog, which is an understatement. I don't bark. I just don't want to - my eyes say it all. I'm very smart and very well behaved. You will be amazed at what a great dog I am. There isn't a mean bone in my body. I love to cuddle and I'm very affectionate. I like to play with toys. I'm incredibly gentle and enjoy evening walks. My favorite thing is playing with other dogs in the yard and rolling in the grass. I am so happy and so grateful. I love life and my spirit is contagious. I brighten every day. Please give me a chance. I'm a very special dog with an amazing story of survival and unconditional love. I'm spayed, vaccinated and ready to go. Adoption fee: $75.

Adoption Process:
Send an email to info@pawsforliferescue.org to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week trial run with the pet as part of your family. This is a trial period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the trial time and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption.
