Stanley's Story
MEET STANLEY... OUR SWEET “STAN THE MAN”

Some dogs just tug at your heart a little differently.

Stanley is one of those dogs.

We believe he’s around 3 years old and possibly a Dachshund/Min Pin mix, and underneath that adorable little face is the most sensitive, loyal heart.

Stanley gets attached to his people very quickly, and honestly, we think it’s because somewhere along the way he learned what it feels like to be left behind. Once he realizes you are kind and safe, he gives you his whole heart and just wants to stay close.

He doesn’t ask for much.

He just wants to know you’re not going anywhere.

When Stanley was found, he had already been seen wandering the streets for at least a week or two. Paws Patrol finally secured him near Sunset Park, and the poor little guy was in terrible shape.

He had tapeworms, Giardia, painful skin infections, scabs and scars all over his body. We don’t know how long he had been surviving out there or what his life looked like before us, but his body told us enough.

And somehow, after everything, he is still SO loving.

At first Stanley can be cautious and sensitive, almost like he’s waiting to make sure it’s really okay to trust you. But once he does... oh my goodness.

He turns into the biggest love bug.

He wants to be near you, ride in the car with you, go on walks with you, play with his toys, chase balls, carry sticks, eat his snacks and just be part of your world.

He is potty trained, great in the car, and currently lives in a foster home with several other dogs. He does well, but we truly feel Stanley would be happiest as someone’s one-and-only spoiled baby — the little king of the house who finally gets all the love and reassurance he has been missing.

Stanley doesn’t need another temporary stop.

He needs his person.

The person who will look at him and say, “You’re home now.”

The person who will teach him that car rides don’t end in abandonment, that love doesn’t disappear, and that when someone chooses you, they can choose you forever.

Stanley has already survived the hardest chapter of his story.

His body has healed.
His little personality has blossomed.
And now all that is missing is the family he has been waiting for.

Our sweet Stan the Man deserves to be someone’s whole world.

And more than anything, he deserves to never be left behind again.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdc9IlMzlBqTTpXA9n5-AGb7XoE2Ru0ypKCP1q3VjNRGWloOQ/viewform
